12th International Students’ Gathering held in Ecuador
UDEF’s International Students’ Gathering, which this year, is projected to be held in 91 cities of 51 different countries, was recently held in Ecuador as well.
With a slogan of “For a Just World, From East to West”, Federation of International Student Associations (UDEF) concluded its 12th International Students’ Gathering in Ecuador.
The event, which was held in the Islamic Center of Ecuador, was attended by Chairman of Islamic Center of Ecuador, Dr. Juan F, Suquilla Carrera, a number of Members of Parliament of Eucador, Dr. Esther Cuesta Santana, Dr. Lorena Villavicencio, Dr. Patricio Benalcazar, delegate from Catholic University, Prof. Dr. Mauro Aviles, representatives from various NGOs and international students.
The event started with recitation from the Noble Quran. Later, Ahmet Koroglu, who attended the event on behalf of UDEF, made the inaugural speech. Koroglu, while mentioning about the activities of UDEF also mentioned about the emphasis and importance that Turkey gives when it comes to international students. Further, he even said that UDEF is always ready and willing to assist international students in Turkey.
Later speaking in the program, Congresswoman Dr. Eshter Cuesta Santana thanked and praised UDEF for its activities. Emphasizing on the importance of inter-cultural activities, as done by UDEF, she even added that she would try her best in order to help students from Ecuador to go to Turkey for further studies.
The event that was mainly focused on UDEF and its international students related activities was followed by question answer session, and at the end of the event participants were served with local delicacies.
