12th International Students’ Gathering held in Kahramanmaras
UDEF’s International Students’ Gathering, which this year is projected to be held in 91 cities of 51 different countries, was recently held in the city of Kahramanmaras.
With the slogan of “For A Just World, From East to West”, 12th International Students’ Gathering was held at Kahramanmaras Milli Irada Square. Students from 31 different countries opened their introductory stands, where they introduced their cultures and countries to visitors.
The event began with the recitation from the Noble Quran. The events of 12th International Students’ Meet kicked off with ribbon cutting ceremony from the attending delegates.
In his inaugural speech, President of Yedi Kita International Students’ Association, Haci Muharrem Dilipak said, “It is our main goal to have the students to own consciousness of universal brotherhood, to know the modern world order, to have high organizational capability, to be aware of the situation and requirements of their countries, to know the glorious of Islamic culture and history and to return to their countries as volunteer ambassadors of civilization.”
Later speaking at the event, M. Malik Taylan, UDEF General Coordinator for International Affairs said, “Currently, around 150 thousands students from 203 countries are pursuing their education in Turkey. Our student gatherings, which are held in the months of April and May every year, are meant to be means for the students to introduce their countries, culture, their social life style, all their traditions and make them feel at home as well.”
Kaharamanmaras AK Party MP, Ahmet Ozdemir and Mehmet Cihat Sezal addressed the event mentioned about the activities to avail in increase in number of international students in Turkey and their pleasant stay when in Turkey.
