12th International Students’ Gathering held in Malatya
This year’s 12th International Students’ Gathering, organized by UDEF under the auspices of Presidency of Republic of Turkey, which is being held in 91 cities of 51 countries, completed its events in Malatya.
With the slogan of “For a Just World, From East to West”, international students from all over the world met in Malatya and exhibited their cultural activities, ethnic and traditional belongings, exchanged cultural views with other students from other parts of world.
Not Foreigner But Guest
UDEF Accommodation Coordinator, Ahmet Yasir Temelli said, “More than 150 thousand currently are studying in Turkey. We open the doors of our hearts to our fellow international students. We embrace them with our cultural values and traditions. We believe in supporting those who leave their homes to seek education. These international students in our country are no foreigners but our guests.”
Governor of Malatya, Aydin Barus, while mentioning of his pleasure in attending the event, said, “May Allah be please with all those who put efforts to organize this program.” While repeating “For a Just World, From East to West”, he even mentioned about the need of revival of Muslims and the responsibility that the youths owe in this matter.
With traditional dance and musical performances, poetry and traditional foods, the event seemed no less than a festival. The event was attended by Governor of Malatya Aydin Barus, Deputy-Mayor of Malatya Metropolitan City Cemal Nogay, Chairman of Malatya Academic Officers Union Huseyin Soylemez and a number of international students.
