12th International Students’ Gathering held in Tanzania
Students saying “For a Just World, From East to West” came together in Tanzania for 12th International Students’ Gathering.
With the slogan of “For a Just World, From East to West” students from different parts of world met at the Turkish Embassy in Tanzania. Turkish Ambassador for Tanzania H.E. Ali Davutoglu, TIKA Coordinator for Tanzania Hikmet Ozenoglu, Maarif Foundation Coordinator for Tanzania Oguz Hamza, Director of Tanzanya Presidency of Religious Affairs Muhammed Cicek, UDEF 7th Regional Coordinaor Yuksel Keles, TUMED Incharge for Tanzania Ahmet Ghannam, a number of academicians and international students attended the event.
Turkish Ambassador for Tanzania H.E. Ali Davutoglu, after the recitation from the Noble Quran, made the inaugural speech said, “The efforts of organizing and bringing the international students are being done UDEF. UDEF strives to make international students in Turkey feel home. UDEF with 65 student organizations throughout Turkey is a grand NGO. In addition, the number of member students are beyond 45 thousand. I acknowledge UDEF’s efforts in strengthening the links with international students. By the means of the associations under UDEF, we expect long lasting connections with our fellow students. Not just with us, we expect union amongst themselves as well irrespective of their countries of origin. We call you brothers and sisters because we open our hearts form you in all terms, be it accommodation or education.”
TIKA Coordinator for Tanzania, Hikmet Ozdenoglu addressed the event saying, “May God be pleased with all of them who put their efforts to spread an event of this nature to all over the world.”
While repeating “For a Just World, From East to West”, he even mentioned about the need of revival of Muslims and the responsibility that the youths owe in this matter.
Maarif Foundation Coordinator for Tanzania, Oguz Hamza mentioned of coordination with UDEF and TUMED in terms establishment of Maarif Schools in Tanzania. He further added how UDEF’s 15 years long experience would be of serious help and his gladness for UDEF’s visit to Tanzania.
In the end of the event, attendees savored traditional Tanzanian delicacies.
