The Voice Raising from South Africa says “For a Just World, From East to West”
South African students who came to Turkey with higher expectations have now returned with their friendly and warm experiences while in Turkey.
This year, the 12th International Students’ Gathering organized by UDEF with the motto of “For a Just World, From East to West” in 51 countries and 91 different cities has concluded its South African phase.
The event took place on Sunday, March 17, in South Africa’s capital Johannesburg. South African Coordinator for Turkish Maarif Foundation Adem Koç, TIKA Assistant Coordinator Egemen Şener, South Africa Coordinator for Yunus Emre Institute Gökhan Kahraman and Managing Director Abdülaziz Yiğit, President of UDEF Balıkesir International Student Association Abdullah Sagay, UDEF Volunteer Ali Yelgün and many guest students attended the event.
Importance of Justice For Humanity
President of UDEF associated Balıkesir International Student Association Abdullah Sagay addressed the event, which majorly comprised of students from different parts of the world mentioning about UDEF and its activities related to international student studies. He further added, “This year we came up with the slogan of For a Just World, From East to West. We shall be organizing these gatherings of international students in 91 cities of 51 different countries all over the world. And here we witness the blend of dozens of voices and cultures.”
Following Mr. Sagay’s speech, Managing Director of Yunus Emre Institute,South Africa Abdülaziz Yiğit and South African Coordinator for Turkish Maarif Foundation Adem Koç presented their speeches as well.
Country presentations from Anwar Malwele, Abdulaziz Kenan, Hassan Abu Zaid, Abdulkareem Yusuf, Sarfraz Arshad, Abdulaziz Husain and Ebrahim Asani presented about South Africa, Algeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Somali and Zimbabwe respectively added spirit to the program. The event even consisted of local dance and musical performances.
